Freedom Pens Project
Karen Romzek’s North Huron Junior High and High School Woodworking students recently completed a service project called the Freedom Pens Project. Students handcrafted ten different ink pens using the lathe. Upon completion, the pens were sent to members of the military serving overseas to thank them for their service and dedication to our country. The Freedom Pens Project was formed in 2004. The lathe was purchased with Abrams Foundation Grant money through the Michigan Industrial and Technology Education Society (MITES). We have done this service project in 2012 and 2014.
